The Cranberries Live in Manila 2012

Run For Pasig minus the Running

One River, One Run 11-20-2011

Maku-kwento ko na sa anak ko, the very moment ma-discover niya ang Guiness Book of World Record, na Record Breaker ang tatay niya. HIndi dahil ako si Sarah Geronimo, but because part ako ng 2010 Run For the Pasig River kung saan we reached one hundred sixteen thousand eighty six (116,086) runners breaking the 20-year old world mark for the “Most number of participants in a racing event.” Fact yan. at mahalaga ang fact na yan this year dahil part ulit ako ng event. Hindi bilang runner, pero bilang writer.

It was actually the plan. Niyaya kami ni Melo na sumulat for the event.

sequence treatment

Pasabog ang roster ng mga hosts. Pero last monument, nabago ang mga iyun. Mine became Onse and Ahwel. Onse has become a friend after the weekly meeting namin sa taping Banana Split.

4pm ng day before.

perk no 1: Midas Hotel

We were house in sa Midas Hotel, malapit na sa CCP kung saan mag-start ang 3k race kung saan ako magpo-floor. Anlakas maka upper middle class ng hotel. MOre than that, may libre pang shirt from boardwalk. Wala nga lang kaming singlet like last year, pero wag na choosy.

Perk no. 2 Onse and Ahwel

The Boat is Sinking. At ito ang crowd.

Morning Cirrus Cloud

Perk no 3: celebrity/ies Karylle and the Itchyworms

Karylle and Matteo Reparte

Hindi naman talaga stars like the Stars for All Season and her colleagues (Umf, tama na naman ang speling ko). Mga celebrities lang. Napadaan sina Karylle at Matteo Guidicelli.

Sadly, more than minus the running for us, it was minus the record-breaking goal din. 86,547 runners joined the fun run this year.

Parang gusto ko nang tumakbo ulit. the Run for Pasig River enroute in EDSA.

National Book Week? Talaga Lang Ha?

It’s National Book Week. The rules: Grab the closest book to you. Go to page 56. Copy the 5th sentence as your status. Don’t mention the book.

And here’s what i got.

“Not every woman does, more’s the pity.”

Well, it is from Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs. How to really know your husband, wife, lover, child, boss, employee, yourself through astrology.

"Not every woman does, more's the pity."

But what is this Facebook fad saying that we are now celebrating a National Book Week. Sabi sa WikiPilipinas, “National Book Week is a celebration organized by the Philippine Library Association, intended to encourage reading and literacy among Filipinos and to promote public libraries in the Philippines.”

In 1934, Governor General Frank Murphy designated June 18 to 24 of every year as National Book Week. Bakit? ”…to sell the public library to the community by focusing the attention of the people on its resources and the extent and nature of its services.” However, in 1936, President Manuel L. Quezon of the Philippine Senate, changed the week long celebration to November 24-30.

Diba August ngayon? Are we supposed to celebrate Linggo ng Wika, instead of the National Book Week? And Why start the week on a Saturday? Baka naman sa ibang bansa ang event? Niweis, inalam ko lang. Hindi ako KJ. Nakiparticipate nga ako, at the very least. Malay mo, ito na ang next Christmas, like make everyday a Christmas Day, What about make every week a National Book Week.

Want to try the 80s?

I want!

maka costume man lang! Love!

The Ronnies, Flush and the Toilets, Kaze, Billy Gaga and Top Junk!

Isakatuparan ang frustrations nung kabataan, And when i say kabataan, rurok ng kabataan. like 8 years old.

Sa Route 196, sa Katipunan lang naman ito. August 10!
