Grr. I usually don’t do this, but comments like this one just… I can’t even…ANYWAY:

My argument:
Pinoy teleseryes need an upgrade, need more ambition, need more freshness.

Your counter-arguments:
1. “Nakakuha lang ng mga pictures ng teleserye, akala nakapag-research na”
– NOPE, those aren’t my pictures. I only submitted the text =)

2. “Sa mga nagsasawa na sa palabas sa Pilipinas, really, what was the last shows that you;ve watched?”
– Lets say, for argument’s sake, that I have NOT watched any teleseryes lately. Does that mean that everything on the list is 100% false? A whopping majority seems to agree with it, and some even say those 8 aren’t the only ones worth mentioning – there are more! (Baka ikaw ang hindi nanonood?).
You don’t have to be a freaking film major to see how boxed our TV culture is.
And for the record, I’ve watched Ezperanza, Mula sa Puso, Pangako Sa Yo, Maging Sino Ka Man, Tayong Dalawa and The Legal Wife (from start to end).

3. “Ginamit mo ang pronoun na “We.” Now tell us, what have you started?”
– I’ve started by TELLING THE DARN TRUTH, which, for most people, is a good start.

4. “And finally, “upgrade” to Hollywood standards? Wow, colonial mentality at its finest.”
– Hollywood shows get translated into HUNDREDS of languages just so the world can watch them. YES, Hollywood is the best. Deal with it, or live in denial.
Do you honestly, absolutely believe – from the bottom of your patriotic heart – that pinoy tv shows are anywhere near Hollywood shows in terms of quality?? If your answer is yes, then I salute you. I shall inform the president.

Im flabbergasted that you took some minutes of your lazy time for me, instead of using those moment on research to make your next article credible.

your argument:
Pinoy teleseryes need an upgrade, need more ambition, need more freshness.

My point
You barely know anything about Pinoy Teleserye for you to have an argument about it.

Your counter-arguments:
1. “Nakakuha lang ng mga pictures ng teleserye, akala nakapag-research na”
– NOPE, those aren’t my pictures. I only submitted the text =).

– You, not being responsible for the photos doesn’t discount the fact that what you’ve written is a hasty generalization. You just missed your first point on my counter argument.

And for the record, I’ve watched Ezperanza, Mula sa Puso, Pangako Sa Yo, Maging Sino Ka Man, Tayong Dalawa and The Legal Wife (from start to end).

Okay I believe you now. So how was your experience with these 7 shows?

Moving on, let’s say that. For argument’s sake, let’s say that your article is not 100% false. But is it 100% true? Did you list down 100% true samples to support your claim for it to be not 100% false.
Then, who is your whopping majority? And if you are talking about the commenter in this article, would that mean na nauna ang output mo bago ang research? How responsible is that?

Sige, kunin natin ang 7 shows mo. Of course, ABS-CBN is the leading network kaya siguro puro ABS-CBN shows ang napapanood mo. Maging Sino Ka Man, veru beautiful. Pero iyun naman pala, napanood mo, narinig mo si Sam nung sinabi niyang I neve said that I love you.

But more than that, how can you box Philippine Television by watching shows of a single network, when GMA 7 has not stopped producing their teleserye as well, and TV 5 creating breakthrough series as well. Have you seen Encantadia? My Husband’s Lover? Dading? Beki Boxer? Sa Ngalan ng Ina?

3. “Ginamit mo ang pronoun na “We.” Now tell us, what have you started?”
– I’ve started by TELLING THE DARN TRUTH, which, for most people, is a good start.

– you’re just telling something DARNED. But not the truth. I would have accepted an answer like you’ve started by telling your DARN OPINION. And I would say that your darn opinion needs an upgrade, needs more ambition, needs more freshness.

But at least, an opinion can’t be wrong.

So no. Not a good start.

Okay, name at least two shows, two Hollywood shows that have been translated into hundreds of languages. Not a hundred, but HUNDREDS. Maybe I am looking t at least two hundred languages at least? And would you mind enumerating the countries where those languages are from, please.

Now about Hollywood shows. Do you know that there are some Hollywood shows that got cancelled due to maybe same as the 8 reasons you’ve discussed. To name a few, Charlie’s Angels? Ironside? The Playboy Club? Have you heard of them? These are Hollycrap of Hollywood.

Finally, your challenge here is as invalid as your argument. Why would I want to believe that pinoy tv shows are anywhere near Hollywood shows in terms of quality? When I don’t even believe that Hollywood shows should be the standard of Philippine Television. Or did I not make that the point of my comment? Philippine Television should cater to taste of the greater Filipino Audience. You don’t have to be a freaking patriot to see how western your culture is.

But just go on, inform the president and please tell him that the traffic we are experiencing is in EDSA is not a sign of the Philippines’ booming economy. Just like your six teleserye, they are just six of the most beautiful Pinoy Teleserye but not everything that is Philippine Soap Opera.
